Virtual Reality LIVE CAM

More than many other industries, the sex industry is driving technical developments on the net: payment methods, age verification and live video streams were used commercially below the belt long before they were celebrated in glossy advertising posters as the Next Big Thing for mail order companies. So why users and operators of dating sites are usually left out of the discussion on the topic of "social networks" is probably only known to the millions of users of erotic dating sites. Moreover, since a glance at the overview pages of erotic webcam chat portals must give the impression that half of the online world is sitting naked in front of a camera right now, the following e-mail interview with a blogging webcam girl provides some background information from the perspective of a camgirl.

We interviewed a VR livecam girl

How old are you and how did you even get the idea to work as a camgirl (is that how you say it or is there a better term?) How did you get the idea and how did you get the job? I'm in my early 30s and have been working part-time for about three years on various cam portals as a camgirl. I would never have come up with the idea on my own. A friend told me about it and showed me how it works. That made me curious and so I tried it out. The job is actually quite easy to get by calling up the website of a portal and then registering there. You have to give your personal data, accept the terms and conditions and prove that you are of age. On the portal, you then create a profile with text and photos. One is not employed by the portal operators, but works independently from home. That means you have to pay tax on your income and register a business. You need a PC, a good webcam and a fast internet connection. The portal operator provides the software and the technical processing. When one sends and how long, is up to everyone. One should have a little technical understanding concerning the installation. A second option would be to have a studio set up. There you get the technology provided and have fixed working hours. I can't say more about this, because I've never tried it. That means that you are free in the time management etc., which is great for the time being. But how do you settle up? Does the provider provide the technology for this and send you a statement with your shares? Apparently they are quite fair, otherwise you would not stay with them for so long? I am free to decide when and for how long I send. Whether one hour a week or 10 hours every day. I decide that myself. But if you want it to be really worth it and you don't see sending as a pastime but as a source of income, you have to be there regularly. I myself log in on average 5 evenings a week. If you are online too seldom, you cannot count on regular visitors. In addition, you should not assume that you have a visitor immediately when you go online. There are times when one visitor comes after the other and then again there are days when there is not much going on and you don't earn much.

Experience with different live cam providers

One accounts for over the portal operator. I receive proportionately a commission paid out. How high this commission is, depends on the portal on which I send. Usually, 30 or 40 percent of the turnover is paid out. If a visitor would chat with me for 10 euros, I would get 3 or 4 euros gross. Payment is made a few weeks later. So you have to wait a bit for your money, because the operator has to collect the money from his customers first and then forward it. So far I have experienced all portal operators as very fair with one exception. If you have a problem, there is also a support service, which usually helps quickly. On the one hand, you have one of the oldest jobs in the world (sex, although here in a new and not directly physical form, for money), on the other hand, you certainly have one of the most modern jobs, which is rather not listed at the employment office. What has always fascinated me about the online sex industry is that they seem to have the technology under control before anyone else and turn it into money, while the others still fail systems for half a million. Have you ever met any of the "makers" (I kind of assume they are men)? Not personally, but I have met them on the phone. It was a very open conversation and left me with the impression that this is a person who, besides his business, does not forget the human side. I was told that not only men are the doers. By the way, I could never imagine doing the oldest job in the world in its original form. That would be out of the question for me. In chat I have distance to the users. I am there in a virtual world and react to text and/or cam pictures of the users. That is something completely different for me. Can you notice any change in your image of men? I don't believe the clich that "something like that" is only done by fat, old guys, I can imagine that there are quite a few ok people involved, but somehow it's crazy that men don't pay very little money to chat with a woman, isn't it?

The typical webcam customer doesn`t exist

Could you describe your "typical" customer? Does that even exist? Men from all walks of life, from factory workers to academics, come to chat. All ages, from 18 and up to the late 50's. Handsome and ugly, thin and fat. I don't think the typical customer exists. The users use the chat differently. Vele only come for a few minutes to quickly find satisfaction, but some attach great importance to communication. In my opinion, erotic chats are a cross-section of the male population. The motivation to log in to such a chat may vary. Many are looking for sex because they have no partner or are lonely, others may be dissatisfied in their partnership and prefer to be virtually strange than in real life. Others may simply be curious or looking for the thrill. So for me there is no such thing as the "typical" customer. My image of men has not changed since I started broadcasting. By the way, there are also some male stations. But there the customers are probably not so much women but homosexuals. Women don't spend money on erotic chats. Why not? After all, it is safe, exciting, fun, stimulating? Sure. But you don't need to spend money for it. As you can see by my face, I'm even taking it. Seriously, the fact that women don't have to invest money in flirting can also be seen in other areas of life. If I would register on a dating portal, for example, I would not have to pay anything, the men do. And if I go out in the evening, I get a drink from one or the other gentleman without being asked, although I don't always want to. Well, we women invest in other areas of consumption. Oops I just have to correct myself. It occurs to me that I once had a female visitor months ago. She was gay. The exception to the rule. What was different with that woman? I mean, aside from the obvious differences? I can't really describe it, but for me it was a very strange feeling and quite confusing to chat with a woman who is keen to share erotic experiences with me. I quickly realized that I could not handle it that well and I told her that too. She understood that too. P.S. I don't want to influence you in your questions, but from my experience I know that there are many people who want to know if you have to do everything what the users demand before the cam. Just as a tip. You don't sound as if you do everything that is asked of you. That is true. According to the terms and conditions of the portal operators, it is up to the performers to decide what they show in front of the cam. Prohibited is what is prohibited by law. Sex with animals or with minors. So if a user comes into the chat and demands something from me that I can not agree with me, I do not do that either. Most wishes of the users are rather harmless nature, but there are also again and again quite unusual needs. If I would do everything what is demanded of me, this would not do me good in the long run. My own psycho-hygiene is important to me and that's why I just do without some income. I tell this to the users and they just look for another actress, where they find what they are looking for. I send part-time and (fortunately) I am not dependent on every cent. The important thing is that you have fun with what you do. This must also be communicated to the users.

How livecam girls promote themselves

How does self-marketing actually work? Quite a lot of people send messages on the portals and I can imagine that it is not easy to attract attention. What do you do if you can only show a small preview picture plus a few words of text? Well, it's not so easy. But you can achieve something with your profile if you design it attractively. That means, the text has to arouse curiosity and the pictures should be well selected. Beside the preview picture there is also usually a small picture gallery where you can add additional pictures. There you should make a little effort. Important is not only what you wear on the photo. Sure it looks better to show yourself in a nice package, but in my opinion the photos should also have something personal to attract the visitors. When I look at the profiles of other camgirls, I have to say that there is room for improvement. If they don't have visitors, they should consider what the reason is. Some camgirls also have their own website on which they advertise themselves. You write that there could be "some improvements" in other camgirls, what for example? Isn't it the case that men only respond to the key stimuli anyway? How do you like to see yourself? I was referring to the profiles. What the other camgirls offer in their chat, I can only guess from the profiles. It may well be that men primarily respond to key stimuli. But if it's just about seeing naked skin, you could actually watch a porn movie or buy Playboy. But the chat offers much more, namely interactivity. The user can get in touch with me and exchange ideas. Visually and verbally. That's what makes it so appealing. I can say for myself that I do not see myself as a pure "wanker", but as a kind of erotic conversational partner who tries to fire the imagination of the visitors. For me, eroticism is not just naked skin, there is a lot going on in my head. Even when the blood of many visitors quickly shoots into another part of the body. To be successful, you don't just have to show "physical effort", but you have to have fun. With me every user gets a charming friendly smile, which makes the chat really work. If I do not have desire, I do not log in at all. That sounds great, of course, but... for a decently indecent fantasy with a little mood building you need at least half an hour, rather longer, that can be quite expensive fun at 1 to 2 euros per minute. Looking at the clock, I'd rather skip the one or other glass of champagne and the questions about how I feel. How long does an average chat like this last? That's right, it takes a little bit, but sometimes it is faster than half an hour. Every user is different and many people do without mood building and get straight to the point. But that's usually not so much my clientele, these people go to other camgirls. Of course money plays a role. As I already mentioned, I am on different portals and there, where it costs 1.99 euros the minute, one notices the visitors often that they have it somehow hastily. Where it costs half or less, things are much more relaxed. With me, a little bit of feeling is also required. Some come into the chat without greeting and immediately order me something. I am not a robot that works at the push of a button. If others can do that, then so be it. I cannot do that. And I also think there should be a little bit of politeness in it. The customer is king, but even a king should know how to behave. How long an average chat session lasts is hard to answer. Some users disappear after a few minutes, others stay an hour or more. My personal record so far was five and a half hours. My regularly returning visitors usually stay around an hour or so, and on average they contact me once a week. But this is certainly not representative. Other camgirls may have many more visitors than me, but they only stay for a short time. Everyone as he likes.
